How to operate when observing materials with inverted metallographic microscope?

Pulished on Mar. 10, 2023

Inverted metallographic microscope is widely used in the industry. So, how should the metallographic microscope be adjusted? Next, follow the PDV instrument to have a brief understanding.

The inverted metallographic microscope is mainly used to identify and analyze the internal structure of the metal and obtain the corresponding analysis and rating results. The metallographic microscope plays an important role in the quality research of casting, metallurgy and heat treatment, the inspection of raw materials or the analysis of materials after treatment.

How to operate when observing materials with inverted metallographic microscope?

1. First place the sample to be observed on the platform, and then the eyes are clearly imaged through the right eyepiece, and then observe the left eyepiece with the left eye. If it is not clear, rotate the diopter adjustment ring to make the image clear.

2. Next, there are ± 5 diopters on the diopter adjustment ring, and the value aligned with the straight line 2 on the seat is the diopter value of the eye. The indicator point "." on the left also serves as a mark. If both the left and right eyepiece barrels have visibility adjustment rings, you can select either side as the observation reference according to your own preferences, and then adjust the visibility on the other side. However, for the eyepiece tube on the reference side, first ensure that the visibility is adjusted to the "0" visibility level, and then focus observation.
