The flatness of an optical stage usually refers to the variation of the actual surface to be measured relative to its ideal plane within the unit area. Usually, the flatness index of foreign optical stages is ±0.1mm/600mm×600mm, but our optical stages are improved to 0.02 ~ 0.05mm/600mm×600mm through the precision grinding process.

Strictly speaking, however, the flatness of the optical stage has no influence on the vibration isolation performance, and the vibration isolation performance of the optical stage is often sacrificed in pursuit of high flatness for the following reasons.

The optical platform table, in order to achieve high flatness, usually needs to be ground repeatedly, in the processing process, multiple grinding is easy to make the material deformation, in order to reduce deformation, usually need to thicken the table, but we already know through the instructions of the vibration recovery time, the thickening quality of the table, the vibration recovery time of the platform often doubles (or even several times) increase, in many precision optical experiments, this is unacceptable. of.

2. For the optical components on the optical stage, the height difference caused by flatness is usually negligible, but if it is necessary to take height difference into account, it can be achieved by means of a precision-adjusted displacement table. In summary, the flatness of the optical stage is not related to the vibration isolation performance of the optical stage, but can only be used as an auxiliary index of the optical stage for reference.

In other words, the flatness of the best optical platform is several times or even an order of magnitude worse than the flatness of the lowest grade marble platform, so if you need a high flatness countertop, it is highly recommended that you buy a marble platform.
