What is the reason why the electric rotary stage does not rotate after being powered on?

Pulished on Aug. 04, 2023

As is well known, electric rotary stages rely on the rotation of motors for operation. A customer has reported that the motor of the precision electric rotary stage does not rotate and there is a buzzing sound after being powered on. What is the reason? Below, the manufacturer of PDV electric displacement stage will briefly answer this question.

What is the reason for the buzzing sound when the electric rotary Stage does not rotate after being powered on?

1. Fault caus

① There is an open circuit in the rotor winding (one phase disconnection) or a loss of power in one phase of the power supply;

② The beginning and end of the winding lead are connected incorrectly or the winding is internally connected in reverse;

③ Loose power circuit contacts with high contact resistance;

④ The motor is overloaded or the rotor is stuck;

⑤ The power supply voltage is too low;

⑥ Small motors are assembled too tightly or the grease inside the bearings is too hard;

⑦ The bearing is stuck.

2. Troubleshooting of precision displacement platform

① Identify breakpoints and repair them;

② Check the polarity of the winding; Determine whether the end of the winding is correct;

③ Tighten the loose wiring screws, use a multimeter to determine if each connector is false, and repair it;

④ Reduce load or detect and eliminate mechanical faults,

⑤ Check if the specified surface connection method is mistakenly connected; Is the voltage drop too high due to the thin power wire.
